WEASELS ARE LISTENING...

... and dancing to The Hickey Underworld as we're out of our minds with joy because we managed to revive our dead iPod with all our music intact!!! Weasels = supernerds! For all of you ever in the same state of despair when your little musical friend is flat-lining and you're about to loose all your non-backed-up music: "soft reset" is the magical word! Oh and yes, WE ♥ THE HICKEY UNDERWORLD, that's why we're having a little party with them now. Woohoo!

WEASELS ARE LISTENING...

...to "Rumours" from Fleetwood Mac 'cause one of the weasels has some creepy crawlies inside of her that are eating away at her intestines. This makes her feel a little better...

WEASELS HEAD SOUTH...to worship King Khan & The Shrines

Wow… Long time no weasel news... We’ve been a little preoccupied and I won’t say it won’t ever happen again but we’ll keep it to a minimum. We’ve got lots of stories to tell still and here’s the first one…
A few weeks ago, we ventured south of the language border to see some bands. That’s something we hardly ever do and no we’re not proud of it. However, we had such a great time at La Zone with Jack of Heart and King Khan and The Shrines –we missed the first band :/ - that better times are ahead: we will definitely go back there very very soon for more sweat-dripping-from-the-ceiling-fun.

RAW MEAT & EXIT WOUNDS

We know it sounds pretty gross but we're fascinated by raw meat and exit wounds. We love the heavy feeling of a cold, raw, blood red steak in our hands, the sound it makes when we slap it on the kitchen counter, oh and cutting it with a shiny, razorsharp knife...heaven!! Once it's cooked, we loose interest. And exit wounds, yes, amazing! Minimum effort with maximum effect. At the front you see a tiny red hole with a very fine line of blood leaking out, at the back, basically a big pot overflowing with chunky bolognese: quite an extraordinary contrast.
This young band from Ghent, Kapitan Korsakov, has that "steak"-effect on us and they don't just slap it on the kitchen counter but right into your face!

KAPITAN KORSAKOV IS WELL HUNGRY

Tearing up the stage of a renowned live venue like the Vooruit in Ghent? Sepultura were the last ones to have this honour when they introduced the Belgians to “Arise” in 1991. That was until Kapitan Korsakov arrived on the scene. In 2007 during the final of the East-Flemish Rock Rally they completely tore the place apart. The boys are notorious for their energetic live shows, making them very welcome guests in the gigging circuit; more often than not they get off the stage with at least a couple of cuts and bruises. Once the singer almost broke his own jaw with his guitar. You can imagine that the fact they didn’t win the Rock Rally had very much to do with the total K.O of the jury.

WEASELS ARE LISTENING...

...to "Julian Plenti Is...Skyskraper" because one of the weasels has been under the weather these last few days. Maybe he's got that flue they're all taking about on telly... Julian Plenti's dark, soft voice is the only thing that makes him feel better so all weasels are listening to it... on repeat. If only they could distill it into some kind of medicine, our weasel friend would be out in the woods dancing war in no time!

SUMMER IS HERE TO STAY!

Just go to the shop, get "I Love You" from Amanda Blank and dance home after work into the slighty darker and chilly autumn evenings with a big smile on your face that won't fade even if you dance right into a HUGE pile of dog shit, slip and crack your skull on the sidewalk with nobody around to help except for the neighbour's dog that's running over to check what you did to his precious work of art. We're telling you! But feel free to try it yourself if you don't believe us Weasels!

VERMIN TWINS @ PLAY FESTIVAL

We Weasels don't like Dutch people much because they're well...weasels. There are a few exceptions to this (extremely generalising) rule of course. The people at the Muziekgieterij in Maastricht for example, we like them, a lot. So Friday evening we hopped in our car to have some fun with them at Play Festival. There was another reason we ventured over the border: Vermin Twins were testing a new set-up with a full band! Very exciting indeed! Here are a few pics of the night.

...to A.Human's debut album Third Hand Prophecy 'cause they feel like laughing and dancing but they actually have to do some work.
Mister Dave Human is quite a front man and already A.Legend apparently.

WEASELS ARE LISTENING...

...to Gowns because they're moody and they're feeling a little eerie.
